Services

Our independent optometrist understands how eye disease can affect your vision and recognizes symptoms that are often difficult to detect. Using state-of-the-art equipment like Optos retinal photo imaging our doctor can map the inside of the eye and keep records for comparison with each annual eye exam. This allows us to monitor your vision for glaucoma, cataracts, detached retina, and many other potential problems related to the human eye.

We know how important your time is and the value of being able to get all of your eye care managed in one place. After your exam we can fill your prescription in-house, saving you time and money. Whether you are getting new glasses, or new lenses for your current frames, sunglasses, accessories, or contacts, we provide our patients the convenience of a one-stop shop. Call or stop by today and let us help you with all of your eye care needs and services.

Facilities And Equipment Offered In Our Office:

Optomap® Imaging

In our continued efforts to bring the most advanced technology available to our patients, Dr. Rebecca McMurdo is proud to offer one of the only optomap® (Optos) Retinal Exams in Hernando County as an integral part of your comprehensive eye exam. Many eye problems can develop without warning and progress with no symptoms. In the early stages, you may not be able to notice the subtle changes in your vision. However, diseases like macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal tears, or detachments, as well as other health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected with a thorough retinal exam.

An optomap® (Optos) Retinal Exam provides:

Optos Imaging

With optomap our doctor can diagnose, treat, and document, an ocular pathology that may first present itself in the periphery of the eye, such as glaucoma.

The optomap is faster and more convenient than dilation and allows the doctor, and patient, to view the back of the eye. Optomap is also safe for children and with many vision problems starting at an early age, it is highly recommended that an optomap exam be included with your child’s annual doctor visit.
